(ak.'sa.ra) is proud to organize a creative writing workshop for young adults (age 12 and older) who have a flair for creative writing in English.
The workshop will be conducted by the critically acclaimed Jakarta based writer, Amol Titus, whose works include Darkness at Bamiyan, A Summit at
Jungfraujoch
and Modern Traumas. He recently presented his works at the Ubud Writes Festival and is also a columnist for The Jakarta Post and Tempo.

During the workshop he will share the delights of classical literature through readings from novels, plays and poetry. He will share insights into the techniques used by some of these great writers including story ideas, development of characters and situations, lyricism and symbolism. He willgive examples from famous works of suspense, comedy and tragedy.

The workshop will also teach you how to build your vocabulary and develop a reading habit. It will also include readings from Asian authors who have
written in English to contrast styles. Amol Titus will also share his own experiences in developing his passion for writing and some of the disciplines involved in being a writer. Participants have opportunities to seek clarifications and guidance on their own writing preferences.

We would like to invite two (2) students from your school to participate in this event, please be informed that the material of the workshop is suitable for age 12 and up. To confirm your school's participation kindly send back the attached form.
